Prader-Willi Syndrome is a very complex condition what implies serious behaviour issues, endocrine malfunction, autism and it also implies obesity and an insatiable appetite what usually starts a bit later and has different phases.
With Stony we did not yet have big issues regarding food but couple of month ago things are changing and Stony seems to be entering to the nutritional phase 2b what usually happens at age between 5 and 8 with PWS children.
This means that his interest in food has increased, he is preoccupied and anxious with food, concerned and frustrated about the next food/snack and his appetite has increased he has also gained weight.
Stony now is doing great though, if he is kept busy and happy his interest about food can be highly rolled back.
But one day after eating his snack ( and I knew his tummy was full! ) he told me with a shame:
Mummy, I am still hungry.
Than with a confused face he asked: Mummy, I do not understand why I feel hungry all the time?
I was just smiling and told:
do not worry it happens..! I bring you another biscuit.
Than I went to the kitchen and cried, cried, cried.
